Windows 1. 0Heres how I solved this on my Dell XPS 1. Powerpoint Software Windows 8. Removed my bluetooth accessory from device manager in my case it was a headsetheadphone2. Right clicked on the Dell Wireless 1. A Bluetooth 4. 1 LE adapter, and click on Update Driver Software. Reboot. 4. This was probably the key bit gleaned from a post I found on a HP forum for a similar symptom. GO INTO BIOS AND RESET BIOS TO FACTORY SETTINGSWithout step 4, no amount of pairing, uninstalling, etc seemed to have any effect. Im guessing this is because different versions of the bluetooth driver write differentincompatible bluetooth keys to the key store, and I guess resetting bios clears that out. Once I re paired everything then worked. NEARLY.  for my headset specifically, I also needed to do this 5. Go into control panel, Devices And Printers. Right click on the bluetooth accessory, and go to Properties. Click on Services. This takes a few seconds to refresh. You should see a bunch of checkboxes. For me, they were all unchecked So check them to enable those services e. Audio Sink to get audio routed to the devices, Remote Control to handle accessory buttons, Hands Free Telephony to handle microphonevoice call, etcFinally  I could then right click on my Audio properties, go to Playback Devices, and select my bluetooth headset and change it to default playback device, etc. Buy Dell XPS 1. 3 9. Signature Edition Laptop. I bought the laptop after a lot of consideration. I tried checking as many online reviews as possible as well as comparison videos. I was so happy when I received it, and I really enjoyed the sleek metal case. The keyboard is really enjoyable and I like typing on it. Lw Playas Gon Play. It has two level backlight for the keys, so typing at night isnt an issue. The trackpad is nice and wide, and after a bit of tweaking the settings, it feels very responsive. I especially bought this laptop for the screen. The very narrow bevel is a huge selling point. The screen itself is matte, which is nice when you need to use the laptop in a bright environment. Now, the main problem and source of disappointment COIL WHINE. Its absolutely been driving me crazy for the past 5 months. Whenever the laptop is under a bit of load, this buzzing sound starts to increase in intensity it is noticeable even when working in a not so quiet environment. So, whenever the screen updates such as when scrolling a web page, or even watching a video this electrical buzzing sound becomes really noticeable. Ever since discovering this issue, Ive been reading a lot of articles on line, on whether or not it is solvable. Apparently, Dell is aware of this problem, and CANT FIX IT. People have been in touch with their support and managed to get their motherboards replaced. This, though, did not solve the coil whine issue. Aside from this, ocasionally the speakers start producing a very annoying crackling sound. This goes away when putting the laptop to sleep and waking it up again. So, to sum it up, this seems to be a dream machine, which is thoroughly destroyed by the oh so annoying coil whine. Buyers BEWARE More.
